1. How did you find out about CVSC?
CVSC is right in my neighborhood and I would drive past it frequently. When I was on the lookout for a new gym, I decided to pop my head in and see what it was all about. I liked the vibe right away and haven't looked back.
2. What is your favorite exercise or workout?
I like WODs with lots of different moves broken up in to small increments. It helps me psychologically to think "I can do 6 of anything" or something like that rather than thinking about the whole workout at once.
3. How long have you been a member at CVSC?
I think I joined in January of 2021
4. What do you do for a living?
I am a licensed psychologist (with a small private practice) and full time clinical faculty in the psychology department at USU. I essentially teach doctoral students in psychology how to do therapy. I have spent most of my career treating eating disorders, so I love the strength/function over thin values at gyms like CVSC.
5. What are your hobbies?
I am obsessed with soccer/football. I have two huskies that pretty much run my life. And I run a soccer club for refugee youth. I travel to Armenia every summer.
6. What are your goals?
I want to stay active as long as possible.
7. Why do you train?
I want to travel everywhere possible and not have my body hold me back from seeing and doing cool things.
8. Any advice for future members?
Listen to your body. Fuel your body well. Don't compare what you can do today to what anyone else can do (even your younger self). Just keep moving. Don't forget to rest too! Seems like our bodies need both.
