1. How did you find out about CVSC?
My wife Marcie, who had been going for some time suggested I give it a try. She thought It would be a good fit for me, and like always, she was right.
2. What is your favorite exercise or workout?
I don’t really have a favorite, but I do enjoy workouts that have multiple movements to create a little variety and break up the monotony. I’m not an endurance guy, so anything fast and furious works better for me.
3. How long have you been a member at CVSC?
Not sure, but long enough to remember early morning workouts in the old, small gym.
4. What do you do for a living?
I’m a hospital pharmacist.
5. What are your hobbies?
I love everything outdoors, hiking, biking etc. I love adventurous travel. Our trips are rarely “vacations.” My new favorite thing to do is spend time with my 6.8 amazing grandkids!
6. What are your goals?
My priorities have changed with age. I realize that I will probably never have a new one rep PR., so my focus is now to create a level of fitness that allows me to continue to do the physical activities I love well into my retirement years.
7. Why do you train?
Initially I felt like it would be a good way to stay fit though the long Cache Valley winters, but I’ve learned through the years that physical and mental health are closely connected. I feel like Brads workouts benefit my mental health as much as my physical health.
8. Any advice for future members?
Brad and his gym have both been great for me. His workouts cover a lot of muscle groups and cardio in a short period of time. There aren’t many things we do in the gym that we couldn’t do on our own, at home, but the reality is we wouldn’t do it on our own. Brad’s CVSC recipe motivates me to push harder, have fun and keep coming back for more.
Nike said it best,” Just Do It.” I can’t count the number of times I considered skipping out on the gym after work because I was tired, but I am always glad I went, after the workout is finished. If you are young and fit, keep going, it’s easier to keep an object in motion moving, than start it. If you are not, start slow and stick with it. It’s been fun and motivating to see a lot of gym friends literally transform themselves into fitness icons over the years.
